My son has had a fish tank in his bedroom (a Chrismas present) and this morning we have noticed a kind of whitish coloured "sack" attached to the inside of the tank, any ideas what this could be? We were wondering if it could be eggs or something, we have various fish in the aquarium, goldfish, comet etc.

How big is the ’sack’? Can you post a picture of it? What are the occupants of the tank?
I’m thinking that they might be from frogs or snails.
yes it could be eggs but without having more details i can not accurately answer your question.
used condom?
Its an egg sack
yes its eggs sack an when it hatches you’ll afto put a tank divider in to stop the other fish getting to it for they will eat the babys its pitty i dont know what fish you have i could explain in more detail have a nice day
does it look like a little circle with a white cotton like substance all around it? Because if so, it’s just moldy (technically its fungus), old waste, or food that has sunk to the bottom of the tank and not been eaten. It needs to be removed
Goldfish eggs look like clear little spheres

If you look closely, you can see all the little clear-yellowish circles on the plant. Those are goldfish eggs
Now, infertile goldfish eggs that are layed will also develop the white cotton fungus around them. If it looks like a tiny piece of cotton, it is icky and needs to go bye bye
if its above water it might be a spider nest
